    <p>I take the pleasure to answer your welcome letter which came to hand last night I also
     received that five cent note that you sent to me further I let you know that we have orders to
     start for <orig reg="Harrisburg">harisburg</orig> next monday but I <orig reg="don't"
     >dont</orig> expect to get home they will discharge all the men whose time is up till the first
     of october but my time is not out till the 17<hi rend="super">th</hi> of october I think I will
     have to <orig reg="stay">stan</orig> till my time is up but I <orig reg="don't">dont</orig>
     care I can <orig reg="stay">stan</orig>
     <orig reg="for a">fore</orig> month more but I think they will take us all back to our own
     state When I get to <orig reg="Harrisburg">harisburg</orig> I will write as soon as I get <orig
      reg="there">ther</orig></p>

     <pb n="2"/> you also stated in your last letter that you <orig reg="don't">dont</orig> know
      <orig reg="anything">eny thing</orig> about Brother John I <orig reg="can't">cant</orig> think
     where he is I wrote to him often already and got no answer I would like very much to hear of
     him I also let you know that Gowner Curtin will come to <del hand="h1">out</del> our camp <orig
      reg="today">to day</orig> at ten <orig reg="o'clock">o clock</orig> I <orig reg="don't"
     >dont</orig> know much to write at present all the talk in camp is about going home I also saw
     in your letter that you <orig reg="stopped">stopt</orig> wood hauling I also let you know that
     we had rain for the last <orig reg="four">fore</orig> days but yesterday it <orig reg="cleared"
      >cleered</orig> up and <orig reg="today">to day</orig> it is nice and warm you also stated
     that my <pb n="3"/> Book reached home I sent two books I think you <orig reg="didn't"
     >dident</orig> get the other one yet I must soon close for this time write soon again</p>
